Liv Lounge Review by RadiOmaha's Basement Guys

OK, so I was drinking at 9:30 on a Sunday morning at the Liv lounge in Aksarben Village.  It doesn’t sound so bad if you know I was at the Farmers Market, shopping all the great food and booths they offer. While shopping, I noticed others on Liv’s patio sipping Bloody Mary's. Nothing more fun than having a Bloody Mary listening to street musicians and people watching. The patio is comfortable, with a nice fire pit for cool days and the staff was attentive.
It seems like Liv goes after the trendy, younger crowd with contemporary settings like the stuffed Zebra head, and they offer some unique drink selections. (Pink Squirrel, Aksarben Beach etc.)  I only had the Bloody Mary but it was delicious.  Appetizers are available and if you need more of a menu, they will order from neighboring restaurants in the neighborhood.
The Sunday morning crowd is pretty tame, but I bet this is a great place to meet other young professionals or students in the evenings. Prices are a little high in my opinion, but certainly not out of line. The lounge is clean and the atmosphere is friendly. I plan on coming back some evening before going to a concert at Stinson Park.
All in all, the Liv Lounge in Aksarben Village is a trendy place that offers a unique setting, contemporary drinks and a great location. This isn't a dive bar, that's for sure, but you will still feel comfortable if you are wearing your AC/DC tee shirt.

Review of The Pipeline Tavern in Omaha by The Basement Guys

The Pipeline Tavern, just south of 72nd and Pacific St. may be just what you are looking for.The bar offers many televisions, a couple dart boards and very good bar food that keeps people coming back!

Owned by local business man Jim Romano, who keeps everything flowing smoothly and with a smile, this is a must place for Sunday sports! Burger, taco and beer specials will make the game more enjoyable and affordable. The staff is always friendly, and so are the clientele. The place is clean, and the stools and tables are are sturdy. They do always seem to be under construction with very little ever getting done but it really won't affect  your experience at #The Pipeline Tavern. The Basement Guys love to watch the NFL Sunday Ticket here as they offer every game and even have several remote speakers to listen to the game of your choice. The food is great bar food, nothing fancy but simple done very well. They provide free condiments for your burger or taco, (I said CONDIMENTS) so you get as much or as little onion or lettuce as you want with your food. The Pipeline Tavern gets busy in the evening and is a great place for college age folks to mingle, but they offer no free condiments at night. (The men's room may sell what you need)

All in all, The #Basement Guys recommend this tavern if you like watching sports, good bar food, a friendly staff and cold beer. We have been told they pour a strong mixed drink too.  Visit The Basement Guys on Face Book at https://www.facebook.com/tbasementguys/ for Omaha live music events, sophomoric humor and listen for our radio program on www.radiOmaha.com

Review of Beercade in Omaha's Benson neighborhood.

Hank (Bill) and I have always been pinball and arcade game fans, and Beercade in Benson offers classic games and a craft beer selection. The pinball games are in great condition, cost only .50 a game and if you are any good at pinball you will win a few free games along the way. Personally, one of my favorite games is Twilight Zone and Beercade has that machine. For Arcade games, they have Tetris, The Simpsons, Asteroids, Street Fighter 2 and about 15 other classic games that will take you back in time. The games are all fun and work perfectly. If they break down, the management fixes them fast.
I like the way the bar feels like it is a blast from the past, except for the price of their beer. It frustrates me you can not get a pitcher of Bud or Miller but to be honest I am there for the pinball.
They offer a rotating craft beer menu for all you craft beer fans and even have a Tuesday special where a 16 oz. can of PBR is only $2.00. They generally do not have waitress' or waiters, so you have to go up to the bar to get your drink. The staff is friendly enough, and the clientele are really into the arcade games and pinball.
Beercade is a great niche bar if you are looking for something a little different to do, and it may even become a guilty pleasure bar if you are into classic games and pinball. All in all, Beercade is a place I go back to although I can only give it 3.5 stars. After a few games and 2 beers I have had my fill.
Give Beercade, located at 6104 Maple St. in Omaha a try, it may not be for everyone, but it might be just what you are looking for.
The Basement Guys love good music, cold beer, bar food and sophomoric humor. We also have an internet radio show on RadiOmaha, a wonderful station for an amazing variety of music you don't hear anywhere else, with updates on events and concerts in the Omaha area.

Review of CaddyShack bar in Omaha by RadiOmaha's

The Caddy Shack, located just North of Blondo on 117th St.
is a friendly neighborhood sports pub that goes with a golf theme.
Hank and I have always felt comfortable here from the minute we walk in. They have many TV's, a good selection of bar food, (12 wings for $6.00 all day Sunday) and other specials, so this bar does not break the bank! To be honest, we have only had their nachos, and although they were not bad, they were not memorable either. Wish I would have tried the burger plate or the wings because they look delicious.
The people in this bar are friendly! Not just the staff but the patrons are nice people too. It is easy to start a conversation with your neighbor or just enjoy the group you came in with. They have pool and darts if you are looking for that. There is golf and the movie memorabilia everywhere and everything seems modern and up to date. There is a Caddy Shack West too that we have not visited, but if it is the same owners, I can assume it is a top notch operation too.
To sum it up, Caddy Shacks on north 117th st has a neighborhood pub feel, and offers a great menu of bar food and good sports to watch on any of the many TV's. The staff is hard working, friendly and dedicated to make your stay enjoyable. It is what it is, but they do it very well. Caddy shack get two thumbs up from the Basement Guys! Baserment Guys review bars in Omaha

The Cresent Moon on 36th and Farnam St. in Omaha

The Cresent Moon, located at 36th and Farnam,
is a must place to visit for everyone that loves craft beers and great bar food!
The selection of beers are amazing, (but don't ask for a Bud or Miller on tap) the staff is friendly and the food is great. I have probably ordered 15 different menu items and have never been disappointed.

There are TV's, and any big game will be on, but I would not call this a sports bar. More of a place to either enjoy conversation with the people you came with,
or to mingle a bit.

They have Octoberfest celebrations that draw big crowds, they put up a tent and beer garden and have great German food. Prices are fair and the quality is good!
To sum it up, if you are looking to enjoy craft beer, good food, a relaxed atmosphere and get good service, try Omaha's Cresent Moon! We give the Cresent Moon 4.5 stars!
